Yu Zheng
Dr. Yu Zheng is a Vice President of JD.COM and the Chief Data Scientist of JD Digits. He also leads the Intelligent Cities Business Unit as the president and serves as the managing director of JD Intelligent Cities Research. His research interests include big data analytics, spatio-temporal data mining, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Before joining JD Digits, he was a senior research manager at Microsoft Research.
Zheng currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of ACM Transactions on Intelligent Systems and Technology and a member of Editorial Advisory Board of IEEE Spectrum. He is also an Editorial Board Member of GeoInformatica and IEEE Transactions on Big Data, and the founding Secretary of SIGKDD China Chapter. He has served as chair on over 10 prestigious international conferences, e.g. as the program co-chair of ICDE 2014 (Industrial Track), CIKM 2017 (Industrial Track) and IJCAI 2019 (Industrial Track), and Area chair of AAAI 2018 and ICDM 2015. He has been invited to deliver keynote speeches at well-known international conferences, such as AAAI 2019. Zheng is an ACM Distinguished Scientist, a Distinguished Member and Distinguished Speaker of China Computer Federation (CCF).
Zheng publishes referred papers frequently as a leading author at prestigious conferences and journals, such as KDD, VLDB, UbiComp, and IEEE TKDE. Those papers have been cited over 22,000+ times (Google Scholar H-Index: 68). He received five best paper awards from ICDE’13 and ACM SIGSPATIAL’10, etc. He has been invited to give over 10 keynote speeches at international conferences and forums (e.g. keynote speech at AAAI 2019 ) and guest lectures in universities like MIT, CMU, and Cornell. His book, titled “Computing with Spatial Trajectories”, has been used as a text book in universities worldwide and honored as the Top 10 Most Popular Computer Science Book authored by Chinese at Springer. His another book, entitled "Urban Computing" (MIT Press), is the first text book in this field.
Zheng has received 3 technical transfer awards from Microsoft and 24 granted/filed patents. His technology has been transferred to Microsoft Products like Bing Maps. One of his projects, entitled Urban Air, has been deployed with the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection, predicting air quality for over 300 Chinese cities based on big data. He also leads a China pilot project on urban big data platform, which has been deployed in Guiyang City.
Zheng has been featured multiple times by influential journals. In 2013, he was named one of the Top Innovators under 35 by MIT Technology Review (TR35) and featured by Time Magazine for his research on urban computing. In 2014, he was named one of the Top 40 Business Elites under 40 in China by Fortune Magazine, because of the business impact of urban computing he has been advocating since 2008. In 2018, he is honored as one the top 10 most influential people in information and communications technology (ICT) Industries in China by Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Zheng is also a Chair Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, an Adjunct Professor at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Nanjing University.
Tianrui Li
Tianrui Li received his B.S. degree, M.S. degree and Ph.D. degree from the Southwest Jiaotong University, China in 1992, 1995 and 2002 respectively. He was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Belgian Nuclear Research Centre (SCK • CEN), Belgium from 2005-2006, a visiting professor at Hasselt University, Belgium in 2008, the University of Technology Sydney, Australia in 2009 and the University of Regina, Canada in 2014. And, he is presently a Professor and the Director of the Key Lab of Cloud Computing and Intelligent Technique of Sichuan Province, Southwest Jiaotong University, China. Since 2000, he has co-edited 6 books, 10 special issues of international journals, 18 proceedings, received 6 Chinese invention patents and published over 300 research papers (e.g., Artificial Intelligence, IEEE Transaction on Knowledge and Data Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics & Security, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, IEEE Transactions on Audio Speech and Language Processing, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing) in refereed journals and conferences (e.g., ACL, IJCAI, KDD, UbiComp, WWW, ICDM). 3 papers were ESI Hot Papers and 12 papers was ESI Highly Cited Papers. His Google H-index is 37. He was recognized as the Top 1% Scientists (ranked 422/3270) in the field of Computer Science based on Thomson Reuter's Essential Science Indicators (ESI) in June 2019. He serves as area editor of International Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems (SCI), editor of Knowledge-based Systems (SCI) and Information Fusion (SCI), etc. He has served as KDD2018 Media & Publicity Chair, IEEE ICCC2015-2018 chairs, ICCCBDA2016-2018, ISKE2007-2018, CRSSC2015, CWI2014, JRS2012 program chairs, IEEE HPCC 2015, GrC 2009 program vice chairs and RSKT2008, FLINS2010 organizing chairs, etc. and has been a reviewer for several leading academic journals. He is an IRSS fellow and steering committee chair (2019-2020), a distinguished member of CCF, a senior member of ACM, IEEE, CAAI, ACM SIGKDD member, Chair of IEEE CIS Chengdu Chapter (2013-2017), Treasurer of ACM SIGKDD China Chapter and CCF YOCSEF Chengdu Chair (2013-2014). Over sixty graduate students (including 8 Post-Docs, 15 Doctors) have been trained. Their employment units include Microsoft Research Asia, Sichuan University, Huawei, JD.com, Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent. They have received 2 "Si Shi Yang Hua" Medals, Best Papers/Dissertation Awards 16 times, Champion of Sina Weibo Interaction-prediction at Tianchi Big Data Competition (Bonus 200,000 RMB), Second Place of Social Influence Analysis Contest of IJCAI-2016 Competitions and Second Place of Weather forecast Contest of AI Challenger 2018.
